Biography

Christy Essien Igbokwe, known as the 'Lady of Songs,' was one of Nigeria's most beloved female musicians. Born in Lagos in 1960, she dominated the Nigerian pop scene in the 1980s and 1990s with hits like 'Ever Liked My Person' and 'Give Me a Chance.' She was the first president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) before her passing in 2011.
