Biography

Ayinde Bakare was a pioneering Nigerian Jùjú musician who began his career in the 1940s and helped shape the early sound of Jùjú music. He is credited with introducing the banjo into Jùjú music and modernizing the genre's sound. His recordings from the 1950s are considered foundational documents of Nigerian popular music history.
