Biography
Gregory Bortey Newman, known professionally as King Promise, is a Ghanaian Afrobeats, Highlife, and R&B singer and songwriter born in Nungua, Accra. He began releasing Afrofusion singles on SoundCloud in 2017 and broke into international consciousness in 2023 with the viral TikTok hit "Terminator," which helped his album 5 Star win Album of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards. He is one of Ghana's most prominent contemporary artists and a frequent collaborator with major acts across West Africa.
