Biography
King Sunny Adé (born September 22, 1946, in Osogbo) is a Nigerian Juju musician and multi-instrumentalist widely regarded as one of the most influential African musicians of all time. He signed with Island Records in 1982 and achieved global acclaim with the albums Juju Music and Synchro System, the latter earning him a Grammy nomination — the first for a Nigerian artist. A pioneer of modern Juju, he is credited with introducing the pedal steel guitar, synthesizers, and other instruments into the genre's sound.
