Kizz Daniel
Biography
Kizz Daniel, born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe on May 1 1994 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who rose to prominence as one of the breakout acts of the mid-2010s. He began his career signed to G-Worldwide Entertainment, where he released his debut album New Era in 2016 containing the hit Woju which became a massive Pan-African hit and established him as a major new voice in Afrobeats. He publicly and acrimoniously broke from G-Worldwide in 2017, citing a lack of support, and founded his own Flyboy Inc. label. Following his label independence, Kizz Daniel released a series of successful projects demonstrating his commercial instincts and vocal range. His 2022 single Buga featuring Tekno became one of the biggest African hits of the year, spending weeks at the top of streaming charts across the continent and establishing him as a consistent hitmaker over nearly a decade of recording. His album Barnabas (2020) was received well critically, and the Vado EP demonstrated his ability to craft enduring love songs with mass appeal. Kizz Daniel has won multiple Headies Awards and AFRIMA Awards, and has built a particularly devoted Pan-African fanbase that extends to East and Southern Africa. His Afrobeats sound has a warmth and melodicism that distinguishes it from more aggressive contemporaries, and his lyrical content often focuses on themes of love, celebration, and resilience that resonate broadly across demographics. He continues to be one of the most streamed Nigerian artists on major platforms.
