Biography
Ruff Rugged & Raw (RRR) was a seminal Nigerian hip-hop collective active in the late 1990s and early 2000s that included artists from across the Lagos underground. The group is credited with establishing many of the foundational conventions of Nigerian hip-hop and with creating a community around the art form before it achieved mainstream recognition. Many of Nigeria's subsequent rap stars passed through or were influenced by the RRR movement.
