Biography
Asa is a French-Nigerian singer-songwriter born in Paris to Nigerian parents and raised in Lagos. Her self-titled 2007 debut album was a critical success in France and Nigeria, winning the Victoires de la Musique award for best world music album. Known for her distinctive alto voice and socially conscious folk-influenced sound, she is one of the most internationally acclaimed Nigerian artists.
