Zinoleesky
Biography
Zinoleesky, born Oniyide Azeez in 2000 in Lagos State, is a Nigerian singer and one of the leading voices of the Lagos street pop generation of the early 2020s. He came to public attention through his association with Naira Marley and the Marlian Music label, which he signed to in 2019, and his music reflects the energy and aesthetics of the Lagos street music scene from which he emerged — rapid-fire Yoruba wordplay, street slang, and production that blends Afrobeats with traditional percussion elements. His early releases gained significant traction on social media and streaming platforms, and the track Kilofeshe became one of his earliest breakthrough moments, demonstrating his gift for infectious hooks delivered with authentic street sensibility. He later released Lo Lo, which became his biggest streaming hit and confirmed him as one of the most commercially viable acts from the Marlian Music stable. His music addresses themes of ambition, street life, hustling, and romantic pursuit with a directness that resonates strongly with Nigerian youth audiences. Zinoleesky has also released music outside the Marlian umbrella and has positioned himself as an artist with his own creative identity distinct from his label association. He has collaborated with various Nigerian artists and continues to release music that performs strongly on Nigerian streaming platforms. His rapid rise from street circuits to mainstream Nigerian music visibility demonstrates the pathway that social media and streaming have created for artists from outside traditional industry structures to achieve major commercial success within a very short timeframe.
